This is a world’s largest manufacturer of piston pins and leading producer of powder metal parts, and its products are being used in all types of internal combustion engines as well as many leading international customers throughout the automotive and truck markets. With the continuous business developing in China, we are looking for a local Chinese talent for the vacant position as following.

Position: Engineering Director
Report to: General Manager (Expat.) – dir line
                     Global Engineering Head – doc line
Location: South of Henan province
Subordniate: 5

Primary Job Function:

• To provide full responsibility for managing the engineering function; 
• To provide full responsibility for manufacturing and design engineering;

Main responsibilities:

• Function as the engineering leader of the plant serving in a problem solving/team leading role.
• Understand the P/L impact on the business that result from overall engineering performance.
• Be a key contributor to the General Manager staff; involvement in other functional areas is a must.
• Capitalizing on improvement opportunities outside of engineering is an important factor to improve the future of the business.
• Direct the analysis and preparation of all capital projects making sure the financial documents are accurate and justifiable.
• Forecast capital needs on a 5 year, forward rolling basis.
• Establish and monitor a cost reduction program that is highly proactive in identifying areas for cost reduction and improved efficiency.
• Assure that the engineering staff is trained and capable of carrying out all cost reduction ideas in a timely fashion.
• Direct and supervise the activities of the engineering staff.

Desired profile of the candidate

Education:Bachelors degree preferred in a technical field such as Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Mechanical Engineering Technology;
Language:Fluent in Chinese (Mandarin) and English

Professional experience:

• Minimum 5-7 years in engineering leadership in an automotive manufacturing environment is a must; relevant working experience in cold extrusion/cold forging of steel, heat treatment, precision machining will be a plus;
• Working knowledge of quality systems, statistics and capability studies a plus;
• Extensive APQP experience a plus;
• An advanced degree or certification a plus.
• Strong communication and training experience to other technical engineers.
