Position: Category Manager (Lifting Systems)
Report to: Managing Director in China
SVP Procurement in Sweden
Location: Kunshan
Main responsibilities:
- Take active part in developing the sourcing function into a world class professional procurement function
- Establish professional processes (sourcing, quality audits, sustainability, supplier development, etc.)
- Will work together with the other purchasing resource to manage all Lifting Systems' sourcing and purchasing activities in China and Taiwan (potentially other countries in the future)
- Lead and manage strategic activities towards suppliers
- Will work on identifying "right" suppliers for Lifting Systems and ensure competitive total costs (e.g. use a professional sourcing process with supplier audits, use of target cost breakdown models, etc.)
- Will work with established suppliers (in supplier development projects) to further reduce total cost in value chain, improve quality, delivery performance, lead times and flexibility
- Will start to involve key suppliers in product development
- Lead and develop strategic business relationships with suppliers
- Develop, manage and execute plans to ensure that the function captures the yearly target of 5% project savings
Education:University degree, preferably in Engineering and/or Business Administration
Language:Fluent written and verbal English and Mandarin
Professional experience:
- Worked for western European companies previously
- More than 8 years of strategic sourcing experience
- Proven track record in developing a professional and successful procurement function
- Strong technical background of forged steel production
- Strong business leadership skills
- Strong team-work skills and communication skills
- Strong experience and models for supplier quality audits, sustainability, supplier development and target cost breakdown models
- Strong negotiation skills
- Willingness to travel extensively
- Excellent computer skills in standard office applications
- Experience within lifting equipment, rigging hardware or tools is an advantage
