This is a famous European Group (one of the Fortune 500 Group), as the world leader in food & beverage manufacturing field. They produce and sell the nutrition foods for children, nutrition beverage for middle-agers and elders, through using modern automatic production plant of brew house malt extract product line and band drier imported from Switzerland and Germany. With the development of their business in China, we are looking for the suitable candidate for the vacant newly set up position.

Position: Production Manager
Location: Minhang, Shanghai
Reporting to: Plant Director
Subordinates: 3 Production Supervisors

Main Responsibilities:

Job Purpose

• Responsible for overseeing all manufacturing activities for one product group within the plant to ensure continuous and efficient production at a desired level of quantity, quality and cost.
• Establishes schedules and ensures effective and efficient use of manpower, materials and equipment. Manages and trains a team of production staff.

Main responsibilities

Workshop Operation /Production Management

• Establishes production schedule with supply chain and targets to meet the requirements of sales orders.
• Corrective actions relating to delayed schedules, excessive costs, material shortages, quality control and other factors.
• Coordinates with other function managers in planning and implementing manufacturing programs.

Lean production

• Manages and executes various programs that lead to improvements in quality, costs and overall efficiency.
• Assists in evaluating and improving manufacturing methods, layouts, equipment and techniques.
• Initiates various programs that lead to improvements in quality, costs and overall efficiency.
• Advises management on manufacturing activities, performance and results and recommends.

Production people management

• Determines proper staffing and skill levels for the production operation.
• Manages and trains a team of production staff.

Participate in CAPEX Projects

• Participate in Capex project plan
• Support Capex project implementation

Desired profile of the candidate

Working Experience:

Education:Bachelor degree in engineering e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, process engineer, Food Sciences and Engineering, Automation, Chemical Sciences, etc.

Language:Fluent in both oral and written English.

Professional experience:

• Minimum 5 years experience in production process management or engineering and plant maintenance in food manufacturing.
• Strong Production Process background in FMCG industry.
• Experience of working on projects management and coordination is preferable
• Familiar with the production process including mixing, heating, stealing and packing, etc and relevant equipments/ facilities
• Strong analytical, logic thinking and problem solving skill
• Good at team management and personnel management, good capability for people development
• Planning skill and well organized
• Info-Collection & Processing skill
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
